The importance of clean and well exfoliated skin has long been the emphasis of most advanced skin care routines. Without exfoliation skin builds layers of dead cells, harbours acne causing bacteria, and gradually reduces the rate at which it renews, leading to aging and pigmentation changes.

Skin peels are one of the most popular aesthetic skin treatments due to the ability to provide controlled depth exfoliating alongside directed treatment of skin concerns.

How do Skin Peels work?

Peels and resurfacers (lighter peels) use acids and enzymes to exfoliate away layers of the skin to reveal fresher, clearer, more youthful looking skin. Ranging from superficial exfoliation to deeper treatment of problem skin, peels harness the power of naturally occurring acids to dissolve the outer layers of skin and treat a variety of skin concerns.

The safe but powerful blend of ingredients in skin peels work to visibly reduce the appearance of open pores, dissolve dead skin cells, target blemishes, acne and pigmentation, and visibly smooth fine lines and wrinkles.

What can Skin Peels treat?

Skin peels produce impressive and lasting results for a variety of concerns. Most commonly treated skin problems treated with peels are:

Acne and acne scarring

Hyper pigmentation and age spots

Fine lines and wrinkles

Dry, coarse tired and dull skin

The process of aging and repeated facial expressions, such as raising of eye brows, squinting and frowning, gradually creates permanent creases and lines which often leave the face looking tired. Wrinkle relaxing injections are a safe and effective way to smooth away these lines and gently reduce signs of aging.

At KarAesthetics we promote a soft approach to wrinkle relaxing, avoiding the 'frozen look' and allowing our clients natural movement and expression. Our skilled and registered aesthetics practitioner will ensure you are left looking refreshed and rejuvenated.

How long will it last?

Wrinkle relaxing injections typically last between 3-5 months. Treatment can be repeated to maintain the desired effect. Many people find that after several treatments the effects last longer and only require a repeat treatment at 6 months.

What are Anti-wrinkle injections?

A natural protein, botulinum toxin, produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, is injected in small doses, into the targeted muscles. this will then relax the muscle movement, therefore preventing the formation of creases and fine lines.

What areas are treated?

The most common areas for treatment are the forehead lines, crows feet around the eyes, bunny lines at the top of the nose and vertical frown lines between the eyebrows. Botox can also be used to lift the brow area, reduce the appearance of a ‘Gummy smile’ and even treat excess sweating under arms, and on hands and feet.

Lip enhancement is sometimes referred to as lip augmentation. Using dermal filler to enhance the beauty of your lips with natural looking, and expertly administered products.

It is important that when enhancing your lips, the dermal filler is administered with careful consideration to the dimensions of your facial features. Lips are an important part of facial beauty and when the enhancement is well balanced against other facial features, it can add appeal, freshness and a youthful glow to a face.

Lip fillers can be used to plump, enhance or reshape thin or aging lips with natural yet transforming results.

As we age our lip colour and border fades, lines start to appear and lips thin. Whether you have naturally thin lips, lips that have thinned with aging or are looking for a more sensuous lip shape, lip fillers can safely and gently achieve a smooth and enhanced appearance.

What are Lip Fillers?

Lip fillers are a type of dermal filler made from Hyaluronic Acid, a product found naturally in the skin, in the form of a smooth gel. Lip fillers are not permanent and will gradually and naturally breakdown over time as your body metabolises the hyaluronic acid. There are various brands of lip filer on the market. At KarAesthetics we will discuss the different fillers we offer and explain there properties along with the injection techniques used in lip augmentation to tailor a bespoke treatment plan to each individual.

How can Lip Fillers enhance the lips?

Lip fillers can be performed at many different areas of the lips

1- Vermilion border or lip outline - for creating definition, width and improve lipstick bleeding lines

2- Lip augmentation targeting the fleshy part of the upper and lower lip – for volume, pout and fullness

3- Cupids bow definition – adds definition and contouring

4- Oral commissures or lines going down from the sides of the mouth – for a younger and happy look

5- Marionette lines (sad lines from corner of lips downward) – also known as puppet lines

6- Philtrum ridges that go from the upper lip towards the nose can be made more defined.

7- Perioral lines or fine vertical lines often due to smoking on the upper lip can be reduced

Our skin can lose its naturally occurring hyaluronic acid from as early as our mid twenties. This means lines begin to appear. The more hyaluronic acid lost, the more our skin sags and depressions and troughs become visible, all contributing to the signs of ageing. Dermal fillers are used to reduce the appearance of ageing by filling deep depressions i.e. the creases from the nose to the mouth edge or under eye hollows, smoothing lines such as peri-oral lines and enhancing features for example the jawline, cheeks and chin to balance the facial profile.

Dermal filler treatments can last upto 18 months*

*Treatment results may vary from person to person.

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid which occurs naturally in our skin. Hyaluronic acid binds water to the area for a smooth and plumper result.
